“The Black Experience”

A first person look at being Black in America. Every choice you make has an impact on the rest of your day. From what clothes you wear, to how you interact with other people, all these things decide whether you’ll make it to the next day.”

Premise borrowed from indie comic of the same name written by Jordan Clark and illustrated by Ahmara Smith.  Available for sale here: https://jclarkcomics.squarespace.com/comics/the-black-experience and here: https://gumroad.com/ahmarasmithart

(In lieu of donations or paying for the game, please instead check out and buy the comic in the links above that inspired the game I made. Well worth reading! Support the arts!)

I wanted to explore this premise through a twine game and further the narrative on how it sometimes feels like being a second hand citizen in this country but also just how many hoops Black folks have to jump in through navigating society due to having darker skin.

(Please note that there are two different endings!)
